Ghar Chola
Gharchola, also known as Ghar Chola, is one of the most auspicious bridal sarees from Gujarat, deeply rooted in tradition and cultural significance. Woven with rich silk or cotton and highlighted with zari checks, it is adorned with motifs of elephants, peacocks, flowers, and religious symbols that represent prosperity, love, and new beginnings. Traditionally, a Gharchola saree is gifted to the bride by her in-laws as a blessing when she enters her new home, making it an integral part of Gujarati weddings. The hallmark of a Gharchola is its grid-like zari checkered design, with each square filled with symbolic motifs. Often dyed in auspicious red, maroon, or green shades, it represents fertility, marital bliss, and spirituality.
